Being the capital city of the East Coast state of Terengganu in Malaysia, Kuala Terengganu lacks no Malay-Muslim cultural influence — and it certainly reflects in the food scene. Today, we’ll be covering a few spots that you might want to check out if you were to visit!
Both tourists and locals have referred to this place as the “Best Nasi Kerabu in the world” — which is definitely a big thing to claim, but it sure lives up to it. The business has been running for many years, and has also been listed as one of the best 50 street foods in the World Street Food Congress 2017. Fauzi Nasi Kerabu remains an East Coast pride to boast about as it is affordable, delicious, and their grilled beef might have you coming back for seconds.

Kuala Terengganu is well known for their ‘Ikan Celup Tepung’, and there’s one place in particular, Warung Pok Nong, that serves the best hot and crispy Ikan Celup Tepung. It’s located near the airport, by the sea. On a day-to-day basis, this place sure does hold up a queue, all for their deep fried, fresh, seafood.
